Easy home made cake.
Plain flour - 2 cup or 240 grams.
Brown sugar - 2 cup or 200gram.
Egg - 3
Butter - 200gram (room temperature )
Spice powders : Nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon (1/2 teaspoon each).
Baking powder - 1 1/4 teaspoon
Baking soda- 1/2 teaspoon
Vanila essence-1 tablespoon

Sugar-1/2 cup
Water - 1 table spoon
Warm water - 1/2 cup.

Preparation : Caramelising.
1. Mix sugar with 1 table spoon water and heat in low heat, till the mix turns into dark brown colour.
2. Once it is dark remove from heat and pour the warm water. You should keep the pan away from yourself, because the mixture may splash and cause burn. (and it is not a nice feel).
Allow this mix to cool. You can prepare this in advance.

1. Sift the flour with all the powders keep this aside.
2. Beat egg well, make butter cubes and add it to the mixture and beat well.
3. Add brown sugar and mix well.
4. Add caramelised sugar and vanilla essence. Combine the mix.
5. Add flour one spoon at a time and mix well.

Transfer the mix to a cake tray.
Bake for 40-45 minutes.
Cool in the tin for 10 to 20 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
