For the marination
- Turmeric powder = 1/4tsp
- Redchilli powder= 1/4 tsp
- Pepper powder= 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Lemon juice= 1/4 tsp
For the gravy
- Onion medium (6-8 shallots ) finely chopped= 1
- Ginger sliced= 1 tsp
- Garlic sliced= 1tsp
- Green chilli= 1
- Crushed pepper powder= 1/2 tsp
- Tomatto=1 small
- Curry leaves= few
- Oil=1 1/2tsp
- Coconut flesh cut length wise= few
- Banana leaf or Aluminum foil.
Method.
1.Mix the marinate mixture together and marinate the fish. Keep it
side for half an hour.
2.Heat the oil in a pan and place the fish fillet in that after 2 or
2 1/2 minutes turn the fish and fry for another 2 mnt in medium heat.
3. Remove fish from oil, into this same oil add chopped onions,
ginger, garlic, green chilli, coconut and curry leaves.
4.Cook this for 6 mnt or so in medium heat.
5.Add crushed pepper and tomato saute well and cook for further 2 mins.
6.Now take the aluminium foil (if u are using banana leafs spread some
coconut oil on top of it then place that above low fire for a second or
so)
7.Spread some masala on the centre and place the fish on this masala
bed transfer remaining masalas on top of this fish now fold this well
so the gravy wont come out.
The Method of cooking.
Steam= for 10mnts.
Gril = 15 mnts (turning in between)
Oven= 20mnts in gas mark 4
Before serving allow this to rest for some time..
If u feel that it is too hot just after removing from heat for fresh
coconut milk 1/2 tsp on top of it and fold it again allow it this to
rest for some time..Enjoy
