Wishing you all a happy easter 2011/Easter 2011 greetings to all

Easter: As per the Canonical gospels, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion. This resurrection is celebrated on Easter Day. It is also called Easter Day, Easter Sunday, Resurrection Day or Resurrection Sunday. The week leading up to Easter is called Holy Week.

It is interesting to know how the name Easter emerged? One story says the name comes form the Goddess of Spring called Eostre who some people worshipped long before Jesus was born. At that time it was thought that the sun died in winter and was born again in spring when days would lengthen and the sun’s power would return. This goddess Eostre was honoured as the bringer of spring. So comes the name Easter
My Easter memories are always attached with good food. This central feast in the Christian liturgical year falls during our summer holidays in India. So during my childhood days I had a great fun time with my friends during easter holidays.

Grown up in a Christian neighborhood so my childhood days were blessed with easter stories from elders. They used to say stories about their gathering near a hill side for a sunrise service. Back in India this chocolate eggs were not so famous. But now here in this cold (oh no sun is back) country side every supermarket shelf is filled with easter eggs. (Some statics says around 80 million easter eggs are eaten in Britain). I should buy some and click couple of shots. I am also thinking about creating a painted easter egg out of birds egg. Well I am not a good painter so not sure whether I will go for it or not.

Enjoy your Holidays dears...Bit busy with some personal stuff ..will be back very soon....Easter holiday plans are on for me, so I thought I will send my greetings bit earlier..enjoy dears..
